Job Description

Senior Environmental Consultant

Type of employment: 12-Month FTC

Location: Central London

Salary: £75,000–£90,000 + additional benefits

Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in office)

I am currently supporting a Global Impact Infrastructure Investor operating within the sustainable infrastructure sector as they look to appoint a Senior Environmental Consultant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This role will provide a strong opportunity for someone with a strong background in Environmental & Social Due Diligence who enjoys influencing investment decisions and working on complex international infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa.

The Role

Lead Environmental, Health, Safety & Social (HSES) due diligence on new investments. Review environmental and social risks, identifying issues early in the project lifecycle. Develop HSES recommendations, action plans and management documentation. Support HSES assurance, compliance and implementation across a diverse project portfolio. Provide technical expertise on environmental, social and human rights risks, including modern slavery, child labour and safeguarding. Support HSES audits, reporting, continuous improvement and the delivery of the organisation's long-term sustainability strategy. Deliver HSES guidance and training to internal teams and project stakeholders. We're looking for

Experience delivering Environmental & Social Due Diligence within infrastructure, ESG, impact investment or consultancy. Strong report writing and risk assessment skills. Experience reviewing Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS). The ability to work independently and confidently influence investment decisions. Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles or Human Rights frameworks is advantageous. What's on offer?
