Quality Engineer 3

Location: Richmond, VA – Onsite
Contract: 9/28/2026 – 3/27/2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Experience: 5+ years
Education: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Work Authorization: Must already be authorized to work in the U.S.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer 3 to lead complex quality assurance initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and support manufacturing quality, customer satisfaction, and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, inspection checklists, CTQ parameters, and Q-gates.

• Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and implement improvements to product quality and production efficiency.

• Analyze customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for customer audits, FAT, UL, CSA, and ISO certification audits.

• Perform COPQ analysis and identify opportunities to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and lower costs.

• Map manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

• Lead Continuous Improvement projects.

Required Skills

• Engineering degree with 5+ years of quality/manufacturing engineering experience.

• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action experience.

• Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronic components.

• Proficiency with FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, and 8D.

• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

• Knowledge of industry standards including UL1561, NEMA ST-20, IEEE C57.12.01, IEEE C57.12.91, DOE 2016, UL891, and CSA C22.2.
