Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HSE Lead to oversee and coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental programs at a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will help drive a zero-incident culture, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards, investigate incidents, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Environmental Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

<>Health & Safety Leadership
  • Lead initiatives designed to promote a strong safety culture and reduce workplace incidents.
  • Coordinate and oversee implementation of Health & Safety programs and processes.
  • Partner with plant leadership and managers to improve employee safety engagement.
  • Identify workplace hazards and develop programs to eliminate or control risks.
  • Provide HSE expertise for new projects, equipment installations, and change-management activities.
<>Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Participate in and support workplace incident investigations.
  • Identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track non-conformances and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate incident reporting and documentation.
  • Work with safety committees and cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence.
<>Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure plant HSE programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support environmental compliance activities and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and environmental standards.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and resolution of compliance gaps.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of applicable ISO and company standards.
<>HSE Programs & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop technical guidance and programs to identify and eliminate physical hazards.
  • Conduct hazard and environmental aspect assessments.
  • Partner with regional and corporate HSE teams on strategic initiatives.
  • Support implementation of standardized HSE programs and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, energy consumption, environmental impact, and workplace risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS/HSE), preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • Training or experience in areas such as OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with safety and/or environmental technical standards.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Ergonomics, Rehabilitation, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with ISO standards.
  • Experience in food, beverage, consumer products, or other manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading safety culture transformation and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Experience working with corporate/regional HSE teams.
