Job Description



Senior Project Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly project billing activity in accordance with contract terms and project requirements.
  • Track project budgets, commitments, and costs while processing vendor and subcontractor invoices and assisting with customer invoicing.
  • Work closely with project leadership and cross-functional teams to monitor project financial performance and support decision-making.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide financial insights on project status and progress.
  • Develop monthly financial forecasts, estimates, and reporting packages, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as needed to support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior accounting team members.


Senior Project Accounting Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of project accounting, construction accounting, or similar experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects in industries such as construction, engineering, infrastructure, or professional services is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, project costing, budgeting, and revenue recognition.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a track record of resolving complex financial issues.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while adapting to changing business needs.
