Job Description

Remote | Australia | Project-Based Independent Contractor

Compensation: $40–$155 USD/hour, based on specialty, experience, and project requirements

Help Shape the Future of AI in Government

What if your clinical expertise could help artificial intelligence better understand complex medical information, evaluate healthcare scenarios, and deliver more accurate, reliable responses?

At Volga Partners, we’re connecting experienced healthcare professionals with opportunities to contribute to the development and evaluation of advanced AI models.

We’re seeking physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who can apply their clinical knowledge, independent judgment, and evidence-based reasoning to evaluate AI-generated medical information.

This isn’t a traditional healthcare position. You won’t be providing direct patient care or managing a caseload. Instead, you’ll assess complex medical scenarios, challenge inaccurate conclusions, identify gaps in reasoning, and provide structured feedback that improves AI model performance.

Your clinical expertise is what matters. AI experience is a plus, not a requirement.

Important Note:
This is a freelance, task-based role designed for those seeking supplemental income. It’s essential to understand the nature of freelance work—tasks will be assigned as they become available, and work may be irregular or intermittent.

The Opportunity

As a Healthcare SME, you’ll serve as a subject matter evaluator, helping assess the quality, accuracy, and reasoning of AI-generated responses across specialized healthcare functions.
You’ll examine realistic scenarios, identify errors or gaps in AI-generated conclusions, and provide expert feedback grounded in established medical standards, clinical guidelines, and professional judgment.
Your contributions will help improve how AI systems understand and respond to complex healthcare challenges.

Areas of Expertise We're Seeking

We're particularly interested in professionals with substantial knowledge and practical experience in one or more of these areas:

1. General Practice

Physicians experienced in primary care, diagnostic assessment, preventive medicine, management of common medical conditions, and evidence-based clinical decision-making.

2. Family Medicine

Physicians with expertise in comprehensive primary care, acute and chronic disease management, differential diagnosis, and patient care across different age groups.

3. Internal Medicine

Physicians experienced in adult medicine, complex medical conditions, diagnostic interpretation, multisystem disease management, and evidence-based treatment decisions.

4. Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

Advanced-practice nursing professionals with experience in clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, patient management, and healthcare quality standards within their professional scope.

5. Physician Assistants / Physician Associates (PAs)

Qualified clinical professionals with experience in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and interpretation of medical findings within their professional scope.

You do not need expertise in every area. We're seeking depth of knowledge within your particular specialization.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate AI-generated medical content: Assess responses for clinical accuracy, completeness, relevance, and consistency with accepted medical standards.
  • Analyze clinical reasoning: Determine whether AI-generated assessments, differential diagnoses, and treatment recommendations are supported by appropriate clinical evidence.
  • Identify errors and inconsistencies: Recognize inaccurate medical information, unsupported conclusions, missing clinical considerations, and potential patient safety concerns.
  • Validate medical information: Reference authoritative medical literature, established clinical guidelines, and evidence-based healthcare practices.
  • Provide expert feedback: Clearly explain findings, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend clinically appropriate corrections.
  • Support AI quality improvement: Apply established evaluation guidelines, scoring criteria, and project-specific quality standards.
  • Complete independent evaluations: Use designated online platforms to complete assignments accurately and within established project timelines.
