Job Description

Service Engineer

£45,000 - £53,000

Monday – Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30am-4pm

UK-wide | Office in Banbury

Permanent

We’re working with a global engineering business that is
expanding its UK service operation and looking for a hands-on
Service Engineer to join the team. This is a newly created
position offering the opportunity to become a key part of the
company's growing UK service capability. You’ll work across a
variety of customer environments, providing installation,
commissioning, servicing and fault-finding support across
specialist lubrication and fluid management systems.

As a Service Engineer, you’ll provide hands-on technical support
to customers, OEMs, distributors and installation partners across
the UK. The role will initially involve a mixture of office,
training and customer/site-based activity as the UK service
function develops, before becoming increasingly field-based.

This is a hands-on, field-based role, so you'll need to be
comfortable with UK-wide travel, working independently at
customer sites, occasional overnight stays depending on workload
and flexible start times depending on customer requirements.

Responsibilities for a Service Engineer

· Installing and commissioning lubrication and engineered
fluid systems

· Carrying out planned and reactive service and maintenance
work

· Diagnosing faults and providing practical solutions on
customer sites

· Supporting prototype and first-of-kind installations for
OEM customers

· Working across mobile, off-highway and industrial
equipment

· Recording installation details to support repeatable
installation processes and kits

· Providing technical support and supervision on larger
projects

· Supporting local assembly, testing and pre-delivery
validation

· Carrying out equipment refurbishment, overhaul and
replacement work

· Providing technical training and knowledge transfer to
customers and installation partners

· Supporting fluid filtration and related technical
solutions where required

· Working closely with Sales, Application Engineering,
Customer Experience and wider Service teams

Key Skills for a Service Engineer

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on engineer who is confident
diagnosing problems and working independently.

· Hands on experience with installation, commissioning and
fault-finding

· Experience working directly with customers or on customer
sites

· A strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or fluid
systems background

· The ability to diagnose faults and find practical
solutions

· Confidence working independently with minimal supervision

· Strong communication and customer service skills

· A willingness to learn new technology and develop your
technical knowledge

· Lubrication systems experience is advantageous, but not
essential.

Benefits for a Service Engineer

· Company van/service vehicle

· 25 days + bank holidays, increasing with time served

· Medicash

· Employee assistance programme

· Mental health first aider support

· Cycle to work scheme

· Contribution towards learning and wellbeing activities

· 10% employer pension contribution

If you're a hands-on engineer with experience across hydraulics,
pneumatics, pumps, fluid power, mechanical systems or similar,
and you're looking for an opportunity to develop your technical
expertise while helping build something new, we'd love to hear
from you.

Apply now if you feel you could be a great fit for this role!
