Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Join our client as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology within this company. As CIO, you will be at the forefront of advancing enterprise technology, overseeing critical functions such as infrastructure, security, data analytics, and AI, all while collaborating with senior leadership to deliver measurable business impact. This role requires a visionary leader with proven expertise in IT strategy, governance, and vendor management, and a passion for fostering a forward thinking, high-performing IT culture.
Compensation
Salary range: $270,000 to $315,000*
*salary listed not guaranteed - potential offers vary based on experience level, qualifications, and internal equity and may be outside of this range.
**Candidates must be local to the Boston area to be considered as their on-site requirement is x2 days/week.**
Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise technology roadmap aligned with organizational priorities, modernizing the IT environment and improving operational efficiency, data quality, scalability, and user experience.
• Advance data and analytics capabilities through the integration of new datasets and the responsible, secure adoption of AI and emerging technologies.
• Oversee IT governance, cybersecurity, compliance, technology standards, risk management, and vendor relationships while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous innovation across the organization.
• Lead and develop a high performing IT leadership team while overseeing budgets, resources, strategic investments, and technology solutions to maximize organizational impact and maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board, translating complex technology strategies, risks, and opportunities into clear, actionable insights, while supporting the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred, with 10-15 years of progressive senior IT leadership experience, including CIO or equivalent executive level experience.
• Proven success developing and executing enterprise technology strategies, transformation roadmaps, and large-scale initiatives within complex, matrixed, and regulated organizations.
• Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, AI, governance, vendor management, and enterprise technology environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading large IT organizations and multiple directors, managing significant budgets and resources, and driving scalable, sustainable technology investments.
• Proven ability to advise and present to executive leadership and governing bodies, translating complex technical concepts into clear business implications and actionable recommendations, with exceptional communication and relationship building skills.
