The Part-Time Overnight Stewarding & Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overnight Housekeeping cleanliness operations and evening Stewarding operations, with a primary focus on maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and service standards throughout guest-facing and back-of-house areas of the hotel.

This position will supervise overnight Housekeeping Cleaners, Public Space/Back-of-House Cleaners, and Stewarding colleagues; assign and monitor daily tasks and checklists; inspect completed work; provide necessary supplies and equipment; and follow up to ensure all assignments are completed accurately and on time.

This position consists of three scheduled shifts per week. Two of the three weekly shifts would be to support overnight Housekeeping cleanliness operations, and the remaining shift would be an evening Stewarding Supervisor shift. Additional shifts may be available based on business needs and when other supervisors are away or unavailable.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who demonstrates strong attention to detail, accountability, communication, coaching, and the ability to independently manage overnight and evening operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Overnight Housekeeping & Cleanliness Operations

  • Supervise overnight Housekeeping Cleaners and colleagues responsible for Public Space and Back-of-House cleanliness.
  • Review all assigned overnight Housekeeping checklists, projects, and special assignments at the beginning of each shift.
  • Inspect guest-facing, public, employee, and back-of-house areas throughout the shift to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
  • Assign daily checklists and tasks based on operational priorities, occupancy, events, and business needs.
  • Utilize hotel technology and task-management systems to dispatch tickets and assignments to appropriate colleagues and follow up on completion.
  • Monitor task progress throughout the shift and reassign or reprioritize work when necessary.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to verify that assigned tasks have been completed correctly and meet hotel standards.
  • Identify deficiencies and immediately communicate with colleagues regarding required corrections.
  • Ensure outstanding tasks are completed before the end of the shift or appropriately communicated to the incoming team.
  • Respond to urgent overnight cleanliness requests and coordinate with other departments when additional support is required.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals, equipment, tools, amenities, and other necessary supplies are available and properly distributed to the overnight team.
  • Report equipment, maintenance, safety, or facility concerns through the appropriate hotel systems and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all assigned areas.

Evening Stewarding Operations

  • Supervise evening Stewarding colleagues and ensure all Stewarding areas, equipment, and assigned projects are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Review Stewarding checklists and assignments at the beginning of the shift and distribute work based on operational needs.
  • Ensure dishwashing, pot washing, kitchen equipment, floors, drains, garbage/recycling areas, and other Stewarding responsibilities are completed according to established standards.
  • Inspect Stewarding areas and equipment throughout the shift to ensure proper cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  • Ensure chemicals, cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, and equipment necessary for the shift are available and used appropriately.
  • Follow up with Stewarding colleagues regarding incomplete or improperly completed assignments.
  • Communicate outstanding issues and operational needs to the Stewarding leadership team.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with hotel sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling standards.

Leadership, Coaching & Accountability

  • Provide clear direction and expectations to overnight Housekeeping and evening Stewarding colleagues.
  • Train and coach colleagues on proper cleaning procedures, checklist expectations, equipment use, chemical handling, and hotel standards.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback when work does not meet expectations.
  • Recognize colleagues for strong performance and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Follow up consistently on coaching and previously identified performance opportunities.
  • Hold colleagues accountable for completing assigned work accurately, safely, and within established timeframes.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with colleagues across all departments.
  • Escalate recurring performance, attendance, safety, or operational concerns to the appropriate department leadership.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to cleanliness standards.

Communication & Shift Handover

  • Complete and review all required overnight Housekeeping and Stewarding checklists, logs, inspection documentation, and shift reports.
  • Document incomplete assignments, deficiencies, maintenance concerns, supply needs, and other operational issues.
  • Provide a clear and detailed handoff to the appropriate Housekeeping and Stewarding leadership teams.
  • Communicate significant overnight or evening issues to the appropriate hotel departments in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Security, Food & Beverage, and other departments as necessary to resolve operational needs.

Technology & Systems

  • Utilize hotel technology and operational systems to receive, dispatch, track, and close service tickets and assignments.
  • Monitor task completion and ensure tickets are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize communication tools and hotel systems to document operational issues, follow-up items, and completed work.
  • Assist colleagues with understanding and properly utilizing technology and task-management systems.
  • Review electronic and/or physical checklists to ensure required assignments are completed and documented.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in Housekeeping, Stewarding, Hospitality, Facilities, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safe chemical handling.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions during overnight and evening hours.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cleanliness and maintenance deficiencies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments and changing operational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and levels of hotel leadership.
  • Comfortable using technology, task-management systems, communication tools, and electronic checklists.
  • Ability to work overnight, evening, weekends, holidays, and additional shifts based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, and carry supplies and equipment as required.
  • Ability to navigate guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and other hotel workspaces throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely handle and work around cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with hotel procedures and safety requirements.

Compensation: $31/hour
