Job Description

Associate Solutions Engineer – Entry Level (Remote)

ABOUT VERAPATH

Verapath is an AI governance and security platform used by banks, wealth managers, and other financial institutions. Our development team builds the product itself: a C# / .NET web application that runs on Azure and AWS and connects to AI providers such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic and AWS Bedrock.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an early-career engineer who enjoys writing code and making sure it works. At Verapath, we build one platform used by many financial institutions, so our work succeeds when someone on the team can take requirements written in business or regulatory language, work out what really matters, and turn them into clear technical requirements and well-tested software.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers, help translate business requirements into technical requirements, and take an active part in quality assurance and software testing. If you are curious, detail-oriented, and like solving problems with other people, we would love to hear from you. You must be willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

•          Translate business requirements into technical requirements. Work with product, support, and business stakeholders to understand the goal, the constraints, and the open questions, and turn them into clear technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

•          Bridge both directions. Explain technical options and tradeoffs to non-technical colleagues in plain language.

•          Write code alongside senior engineers on our multi-cloud platform and AI-enabled features, with room to take on more as you grow.

•          Carry out QA and software testing. Write test plans and test cases, run functional, regression, and user acceptance testing, and help build and maintain automated tests.

•          Document test results. Record what was tested, how, and what happened, and write up defects clearly so they can be reproduced and fixed.

•          Help confirm releases are ready. Verify that features meet their acceptance criteria and pass testing before they are released.

•          Keep a clear record. Capture decisions and requirements so the team and stakeholders always know where things stand.

•          Help make our work audit ready. Our customers answer to regulators, so clear traceability from requirement to test result is part of how we deliver.

WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING

People come to this kind of role from many directions. We do not expect anyone to have all the experience below. If several of these sound like you, or you are excited to learn them, please apply.

•          Experience writing code, whether from school, an internship, a bootcamp, a job, or your own projects, and a real interest in getting better at it

•          Experience working with business stakeholders, customers, or users to understand what they need: in consulting, support, implementation, research, or a role outside tech

•          A habit of asking “what problem are we actually solving?” and listening closely to the answer

•          Attention to detail and a knack for finding edge cases

•          Experience testing software, manual or automated, and documenting the process and results, beyond unit tests

•          Clear, organized writing, such as notes, documentation, reports, or requirements

•          Comfort moving between business language and technical detail

•          Familiarity with any major cloud platform, or with the tools in our stack below

•          Background or interest in legal, financial services, or another regulated field

Career changers, people returning to work after a break, and people with non-traditional paths into software are warmly encouraged to apply. Many of the skills this role needs are built outside of engineering.

NICE TO HAVE

•          Blazor or ASP.NET Core experience

•          Entity Framework Core or another ORM

•          Some exposure to Azure or AWS, or a fundamentals certification (AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner)

•          Has called an AI or LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock) in a project

•          Test tools such as xUnit, Moq or Playwright

•          Test automation, or CI pipelines that run tests on every change

•          Test-management tools, such as Azure Test Plans

•          Interest in security: input validation, managing secrets safely, and least privilege access

•          Experience using AI coding assistants, including the habit of checking what they produce before trusting it
