Cybersecurity Analyst - Microsoft

Hays are engaged by a purpose-led brand within the NSW Government, who are hiring a mid-senior level security analyst to join their Cyber team. This hire is an 80% hands-on technical role, where you are responsible for the day-to-day operation and configuration of the client's cybersecurity tools. The successful incumbent will support the Head of Cyber in detection, response and vulnerability management. 20% of the role will be focused on aligning to governance frameworks as and when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Security operations and detection (SIEM - Sentinel, EDR, XDR)
• Vulnerability management
• Security administration (Microsoft ecosystem, M365 stack)

Essential experience

• 5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations and 3 specifically in a technical cybersecurity role.
• Exposure to Microsoft technologies
• Experience and knowledge of Essential Eight and ISM controls within Microsoft Azure & M365 environment
• Ability to investigate and respond to security events.

This role gives the opportunity to be autonomous in configuration, but with the guidance and support of a Head of Cyber. You will get exposure to some of the latest tooling stack, Artificial intelligence and get ownership of project-based activities.
