Machine Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Starting Pay: $15.50/hour
Pay After 90 Days: $17.00/hour
Overtime: Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
Position Overview
We are hiring Machine Operators for an automotive manufacturing facility in Sterling Heights, MI. Machine Operators are responsible for operating production equipment used to manufacture automotive components while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
This position offers steady first-shift hours and a pay increase to $17.00/hour after successfully completing 90 days.
What You'll Do
- Operate production machinery used to manufacture automotive components
- Load and unload parts or materials from production equipment
- Start, stop, and monitor machines during the production process
- Perform basic machine checks and follow established operating procedures
- Inspect finished parts for defects, damage, or other quality concerns
- Remove completed parts and prepare them for the next stage of production
- Maintain required production pace and quality standards
- Report machine malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to supervision
- Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organized
- Follow all plant safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
- Perform other production duties as assigned
Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Overtime and weekend work may be scheduled depending on production needs. Candidates should be willing to work additional hours when required.
Pay
Starting Rate: $15.50/hour
After successfully completing 90 days, the pay rate increases to $17.00/hour.
Qualifications
- Previous machine operating, manufacturing, automotive, or production experience is preferred but not required
- Comfortable working around manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to follow machine operating instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to quality and detail
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when production requires it
