About the role

As a Senior Software Developer, you will lead the design and development of secure, scalable digital solutions while mentoring developers and promoting engineering best practices. Working within cross-functional teams, you will help deliver high-quality software that supports Housing Australia's technology strategy and long-term business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, leading solution design, contributing to architecture decisions, and guiding developers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, maintainable and aligned with engineering standards across both pro-code and low-code environments.
• Champion engineering excellence and DevSecOps practices, driving CI/CD automation, test automation, secure coding, observability, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, working closely with architects, analysts, testers and operations teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs and enterprise standards.
• Support team growth and capability uplift, mentoring developers, promoting knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of innovation, and encouraging the adoption of modern engineering practices.
• Drive innovation through emerging technologies and AI, identifying opportunities to improve delivery, leveraging AI-assisted development tools, and implementing AI-enabled features in a secure and responsible manner.

Skills and experience

• Extensive software development experience delivering secure, scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions, with strong expertise across Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud services and modern development frameworks.

• Strong technical leadership and mentoring capability, with a proven ability to guide developers, influence technical direction, promote engineering best practices and foster a culture of collaboration, learning and delivery excellence.

• Deep knowledge of modern architecture and DevSecOps practices, including microservices, API-first design, cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, automation, infrastructure-as-code and secure software delivery.

• Experience building and integrating enterprise solutions using Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure services, .NET, Angular and enterprise integration patterns across both pro-code and low-code environments.

• Strong innovation, communication and problem-solving skills, with experience delivering AI-enabled solutions, engaging technical and business stakeholders, contributing to architecture and governance forums, and driving continuous improvement. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Microsoft Azure, DevOps, Agile and ITIL certifications are highly regarded.
