Data Engineer - Junior with Security Clearance

Responsibilities Position Description

The Data Engineer - Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoW systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining pipelines to move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores.
• Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes.
• Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation.
• Work with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
• Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries.
• Implement basic data security and access controls in accordance with DoW/USMC policies and best practices.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related technical role.
• Basic experience with SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python).
• Familiarity with relational databases and concepts such as tables, views, indices, and joins.
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow established engineering standards and practices.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance

• Experience supporting DoW/USMC or other Federal customers.

Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr.

• USD $125,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
