Job Description

Role: IT Quality/Test Engineer

Location- Mossville IL

Experience: 08-10 Years

Job Summary

Value Technology is hiring an IT Quality/Test Engineer to support software quality assurance, application testing, and defect management across enterprise IT applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and automated testing, test planning, API and UI testing, defect tracking, and working closely with development and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • Test case definition and documentation
  • Feedback to development team on test results and how to design software for testability.

Typical task breakdown:

  • In a given week the QA engineer will
  • Work with the development team to understand the requirements
  • Attend the team daily standups
  • Work on testing software and document results
  • Develop automated test scripts
  • Attend story and feature refinement meetings
  • Discuss software design choices with the Software Architect

Interaction with team:

  • Daily interaction with development team and systems team members to
  • Understand software requirements and design decisions
  • Review test results
  • Provide input on design direction

Team Structure

  • 2 development teams of approximately 10 people
  • 1 Architect
  • 1 QA engineer
  • 1 Systems Engineer
  • 7 developers
  • Separate systems team defining features
  • 1 Domain Architect
  • 1 Technical Program Manager
  • 1 Integration Engineer
  • 5 Systems Engineers

 

Work environment:

  • Office environment.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Years of experience: 8-10 years
  • Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or software development discipline.
  • Open to Associates degree with 12 years of experience
  • Open to Masters degree with 6 years of experience
