Job Description

1ST Gateway Credit Union is hiring a Chief Financial Officer. You will lead accounting and finance for a $170 million community financial institution, report directly to the CEO, and sit on the Executive Team.




Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Prepare and file required regulatory reports accurately and on time.

• Own general ledger integrity and account reconciliation, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.

• Oversee accounting performed across departments and validate that it is accurate and complete.

• Manage liquidity, capital, investments, and interest rate risk.

• Present financial results to the Board of Directors.

• Work directly with external auditors and regulators.


Requirements

• Banking or credit union experience is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• 5+ years in accounting or finance at a bank or credit union.

• Experience with regulatory reporting for a financial institution.

• CPA is a plus, not a requirement.

• Must be bondable.


Compensation and benefits

• Salary commensurate with experience.

• 401(k) with a 7% credit union contribution. Not a match. The credit union contributes 7% of wages, and you can defer on top of that.

• Annual bonus opportunity of up to 4% of wages.

• An additional performance-based bonus for this role, tied to credit union results.

• Health coverage through Wellmark with prescription card. You pay 5% of the individual premium.

• Delta Dental and Delta Vision.

• Short-term and long-term disability, plus group life at 2x annual salary.

• Twelve paid holidays, starting day one. PTO starting at 14.5 days per year.
