Here at Iconic Media Group – we’re investing in our continuing growth and looking for an ambitious Multimedia Journalist with a focus on local democracy reporting, to play a senior role within our newsroom and really get results. You’ll be building up your skills and making a name for yourself in the newsroom at the Bedford Times and Citizen and BBC LDRS partners.

So, what do you need to get started?

You will have proven experience in local democracy reporting and samples of your work to share with us. You’re an expert at covering news that matters in the local community - from local government meetings, planning, transport schemes to festivals - all the workings of local government and authority in local areas. Experience of covering council meetings and local elections is of course also crucial to this role.

Alongside your strong understanding of digital, video and print content, you’ll ideally have experience and proficiency with content management and publishing systems. However, if you can bring a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to develop your skillset, full familiarisation and training will be provided. A driving licence and your own car will be a distinct advantage.

Come and join this expanding media team at an exciting time for the entire publishing industry and an exciting time locally in Bedford with work on the new Universal Studios theme park already underway.

To apply, please email a covering letter, your CV and samples of your work to Steve Sims, Editor, Bedford Times & Citizen.
