Site Engineer
Night Shift, 10pm to 6am | 37.5 hours per week
£36,426 basic plus 25% night shift bonus = £45,532 total

The Site Engineer opportunity We are recruiting a Site Engineer for a well-established food manufacturer on the Wiltshire, Berkshire and Hampshire border, just south of Hungerford.

This is a hands-on night shift role keeping the whole site running, covering planned and preventative maintenance as well as getting stuck into breakdowns as they happen, across all machinery and equipment on site.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager, you will be part of a small, close-knit engineering team where you will see the difference you make. For the right applicant, there is significant potential to progress within the business.

The Site Engineer package
  • £36,426 basic salary
  • Plus 25% night shift bonus
  • £45,532 total
  • 37.5 hour week
  • Night shift, 10pm to 6am
What you will be doing
  • Attending mechanical breakdowns and assisting with machinery adjustments
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Maintaining machinery maintenance programmes and records
  • Helping to maintain an inventory of spare parts
  • Keeping the workshop clean and tidy, and controlling tools on site
  • Maintaining and improving the building fabric
  • Providing holiday and sickness cover
  • Deputising for the Chief Engineer and assisting with clerical matters as needed
  • Completing all documentation relevant to the position
  • Liaising with Managers to help implement and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant UK law
  • Other duties as required
What we are looking for in aSite Engineer
  • A sound educational background
  • Mechanical and engineering experience
  • A customer first attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • PC and analytical skills
  • A personable, positive and professional manner
Site Engineer Desirable
  • City & Guilds, NVQ, HND or a Degree
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Confidence communicating with staff at all levels
  • A team player, with an eye for detail
