Senior Executive & Physician Compensation Manager - Healthcare

Legacy Health, a mission-driven nonprofit health system in Portland, Oregon, seeks an Executive Compensation Strategist to design, analyze, and oversee executive and physician pay programs for a large, community-focused healthcare network. In this role, you will lead market benchmarking, incentive plan design, and pay-for-performance modeling to ensure competitiveness, equity, and compliance with nonprofit and healthcare regulations. Partner with senior leadership, HR, and finance to align rewards with organizational strategy, quality outcomes, and stewardship of community resources while producing clear reports and recommendations for executive and board review.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage executive and physician compensation strategies for a large nonprofit health system
• Conduct market benchmarking and pay analysis to ensure competitive and equitable packages
• Develop and model short- and long-term incentive plans aligned with organizational goals
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit, healthcare, and tax regulations related to executive compensation
• Prepare clear reports and presentations for senior leadership and board committees
• Partner with HR, finance, and legal to integrate compensation with broader talent strategies
• Monitor compensation trends and advise on adjustments to maintain market alignment
• Support pay-for-performance frameworks tied to quality, patient outcomes, and stewardship
