Job Description

Position: Software Engineer - Location: San Antonio, TX 78230
Duration: 9 month contract to hire, you will convert perm after 9 months
Clearance: TS/SCI Required Skills & Experience
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
10+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and supporting software applications and systems.
Experience performing software code reviews, quality assurance assessments, and software validation activities.
Strong Python scripting experience, including automation, software analysis, testing, and code review support.
Experience with multiple programming languages including:
Python
Java
JavaScript
C/C++
Experience supporting the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience collaborating across engineering, test, and program management organizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience supporting COMSEC, cryptographic, secure communications, or cyber-related systems.
Familiarity with KIV-78 or similar cryptographic devices and key management systems.
Experience supporting Air Force or DoD acquisition and sustainment programs.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps development methodologies.
Experience supporting cloud-based application development and modern software deployment pipelines.
Experience working within Linux/Unix and Windows development environments.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Job Description - Support the design, development, testing, and sustainment of software solutions supporting COMSEC and cryptographic systems.
Perform software analysis, code reviews, and technical assessments to ensure applications meet quality, security, and performance requirements.
Utilize Python and other programming languages to develop scripts, automate processes, support testing efforts, and evaluate software quality.
Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and government stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
Troubleshoot, patch, and maintain software applications throughout the development lifecycle.
Support system integration, validation, and verification activities across development and test environments.
Develop technical documentation including software designs, workflows, system diagrams, and engineering artifacts.
Participate in Agile software development and DevSecOps activities, including sprint planning, testing, and release management.
Support cloud and on-premises application environments as part of modernization and sustainment initiatives.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance mission effectiveness, security, and maintainability.
