Pay Range: $68 - $72/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and lead the end-to-end design and development of major features for the flagship Android application, ensuring every solution is scalable and resilient.
• Act as the primary Android technical authority, setting direction on the modern Android tech stack including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, and application performance.
• Coach and mentor junior Android engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and backend engineers to translate complex business and user requirements into robust mobile experiences.
• Optimize application performance across memory management, battery efficiency, and runtime speed.
• Evaluate and improve development processes, testing strategies, and delivery workflows to enhance engineering velocity.
• Assess technical and operational risk during key engineering decisions, ensuring solutions align with security and compliance standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience building native Android applications, with a portfolio demonstrating depth across the full Android development lifecycle.
• Expert command of Kotlin, with a thorough understanding of modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, and unidirectional data flow.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Gradle build system.
• Extensive experience with Jetpack libraries, including Jetpack Compose for building declarative UIs at production scale.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues related to memory, rendering, and battery consumption in production Android applications.
• Track record of shipping or maintaining at least one application on the Play Store, with direct accountability for release quality and store presence.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience leading technical decisions in a formal or informal capacity across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Familiarity with agile and waterfall delivery models in a large-scale engineering environment.
• Background in mobile engineering within regulated industries such as financial services.
