Work location: Bergkirchen (relocating to Unterschleißheim at the end of 2027)

As Operational Purchaser, you will take ownership of an international product portfolio and be responsible for ensuring optimal product availability while balancing inventory levels, replenishment performance and supplier reliability.

This role goes far beyond purchase order processing. We are looking for a proactive materials management professional who understands the mechanics behind MRP-driven planning environments and can actively influence inventory performance through data-driven decision making.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independently manage an assigned international supplier and product portfolio, taking responsibility for product availability, inventory levels and replenishment performance
  • Analyze MRP proposals, demand trends, forecasts, supply risks, backlogs and exception messages to secure uninterrupted product availability
  • Make planning and replenishment decisions based on inventory targets, supplier lead times, service levels and demand patterns
  • Own and continuously optimize planning-relevant master data, including safety stock levels, reorder points, lead times, lot sizes and other MRP parameters
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage escalations, shortages, delays and critical supply situations
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining agreed service levels and availability targets
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations and international suppliers to improve end-to-end material flow
  • Identify root causes of planning and supply challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on inventory management, replenishment processes and planning efficiency
  • Completed vocational training in a commercial, technical or supply chain-related field, or a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; additional professional qualifications are an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management, replenishment planning, operational purchasing or supply chain planning within an MRP-driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing an independent product or material portfolio with responsibility for availability, inventory and supplier performance
  • Strong hands-on expertise in material planning, inventory management and MRP processes
  • Practical experience working with and optimizing planning parameters such as:
    • Safety stock levels
    • Reorder points
    • Lead times
    • Order quantities
    • Lot-sizing strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret demand patterns, inventory data and planning exceptions to make informed supply decisions
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Business Central, SAP or comparable platforms
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and solid data analysis capabilities
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Italian language skills are considered a plus

What Sets You Apart:

  • You understand the difference between processing purchase orders and actively managing inventory performance
  • You are comfortable challenging planning parameters and making data-driven replenishment decisions
  • You take ownership, act proactively and enjoy solving complex supply and material planning challenges
  • You thrive in an international environment and enjoy working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business
  • You combine a structured and analytical mindset with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach

In addition to a secure job in an internationally successful, fast-growing and family-friendly group of companies, you can also expect:

  • Attractive remuneration package (split into 13 salaries)
  • 30 days vacation
  • Hybrid working model with flexible working hours and flexitime account in a 40-hour week
  • Company pension scheme
  • Canteen with subsidized lunch
  • Team member appreciation
  • Individual training and development opportunities
  • Casual dress code
  • Regular employee events
  • Employees recruit employees-bonus
  • Corporate benefits
  • Job ticket
  • Free employee parking spaces
  • All the traditional benefits like health insurance, paid time away while you re-energize – don’t worry, we’ve got you covered
