About the Role
A growing Bay Area legal practice is seeking an experienced trust and estate litigator to take on a leadership role. You will guide complex matters, support clients through consequential disputes, and help develop the practice group and its attorneys.
What You'll Do
Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation from case assessment through resolution.
Develop case strategy for matters such as will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse litigation.
Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, older adults, and their families.
Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary contact.
Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the practice.
Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to associates working on active matters.
Help shape the practice group's direction and collaborative culture.
What We're Looking For
At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active litigation practice in this area.
Substantial experience handling complex trust, probate, and fiduciary disputes, including will or trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, or elder abuse matters.
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Experience driving case strategy and supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.
Leadership skills and interest in building a practice group, along with client relationships or a network in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collegial, collaborative approach.
Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Hybrid, with San Mateo as the preferred primary location. Pleasanton and San Jose offices are also available.
