Senior Data Modeler :: Hybrid :: W2 Position

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler with strong Finance domain knowledge to join our data architecture team. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining data models that support financial reporting, accounting, risk management, treasury, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience across conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, along with solid database and SQL expertise.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business and technical requirements.
• Work closely with business analysts, data architects, developers, and finance stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Develop data structures that support financial reporting, accounting, risk, treasury, and regulatory use cases.
• Create and maintain data model documentation, entity relationships, business definitions, and data standards.
• Perform database analysis and help optimize data structures for performance and scalability.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective and reusable data models.
• Support data warehouse and enterprise data architecture initiatives.
• Participate in data modeling reviews and ensure adherence to organizational standards.
• Collaborate with development teams during implementation and resolve data design-related issues.

Required Technical Skills

• 8+ years of professional experience in Data Modeling / Data Architecture.
• Strong understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Dimensional Data Modeling.
• Strong Oracle / PL-SQL and SQL experience.
• Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Azure SQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience using modeling tools such as Erwin, ERStudio, PowerDesigner, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Vault concepts.
• Good knowledge of database design, relationships, normalization, and performance considerations.

Finance Domain Experience
Candidates should have experience working with one or more of the following:

• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
• Financial Reporting
• Treasury
• Risk Management
• Regulatory Reporting

Preferred Skills

• Azure Databricks
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse
• Snowflake
• Banking / Financial Services / Capital Markets experience
• Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, or Basel regulations

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable mentoring junior team members and reviewing data models.

Note: This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite in New York, NY.
