Systems Engineer Lead | Chesapeake, VA, United States | On-site | $75,866.00 - $108,381.00

We're hiring on behalf of a leading defense technology company renowned for its advanced simulation and training solutions, supporting critical national security missions. This organization is a trusted partner to the U.S. military, contributing to warfighter readiness through cutting-edge, all-domain expertise and technology.

The Role

  • Serve as a technical lead and Subject Matter Expert for Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training events, communicating technical issues and requirements to leadership.
  • Coordinate and plan systems and personnel support for training events with various operational and engineering teams.
  • Lead the technical team in adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), recommending improvements, and developing new SOPs as requirements evolve.
  • Support event testing and execution as a technical lead, ensuring compliance with approved manning plans.
  • Maintain and enhance modeling and simulation tools, staying abreast of current military capabilities, trends, and doctrine.
  • Utilize collaboration tools to share schedules, documents, and track issues, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 0 years experience, or a High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Linux and/or Microsoft professional certification required.
  • Security+ certification required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP).
  • Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
