Student Success Advisor

Faulkner University is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Student Success Advisor in the Student Success Center. The purpose of the Student Success Center is to provide streamlined processes for students as they explore majors, seek connections within the University, or need assistance navigating administrative procedures. The Student Success Advisor is responsible for advising students on academic programs, curriculum, and college and University academic policies and procedures. The advisor works directly with undergraduate students in a variety of disciplines to foster their academic success by developing, implementing, and monitoring academic action plans for success.

• Provide academic advising for assigned students including assisting with making course and major decisions
• Provide institutionalized advising to students within broad disciplinary area and general support for all students, especially first-year and those at academic risk, from point of admission through sophomore year
• Respond constructively to a wide range of student concerns, not all of which are necessarily academic
• Determine eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree
• Participate in new student orientation programs as well as College Bound and Welcome Weekend
• Build strong relationships with faculty and staff with emphasis on working with other campus support units such as Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts
• Teach courses and implement other instruction programs to facilitate student success

Qualifications:

• Master's degree required
• Ability to manage assignments and tasks for multiple individuals while using discretion and maintaining confidentiality
• Active member of church of Christ
