Job Title: Data Analyst – SQL, Data Mapping & Data Profiling

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong SQL background to support data mapping, data profiling, and data quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to analyze source-to-target data flows, identify data quality issues, and ensure accurate, well-documented data transformations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate large datasets
• Perform data profiling to assess data quality, completeness, consistency, and accuracy
• Develop and maintain source-to-target data mapping documents
• Identify data anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies, and recommend remediation steps
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements
• Document data definitions, business rules, and transformation logic
• Support data migration, integration, and ETL validation efforts
• Create reports and dashboards summarizing data quality findings

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, window functions, CTEs)
• Proven experience with data mapping (source-to-target documentation)
• Proven experience with data profiling and data quality assessment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Strong communication skills to work with both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS, Talend, or similar)
• Familiarity with data governance and metadata management practices
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
• Experience in healthcare industry is a plus

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
