Position Summary

We are seeking an operational Site Lead, Laboratory Services to oversee and drive the day-to-day execution of on-site laboratory support operations at our Malvern, PA facility. This individual serves as the critical liaison between research scientists, facilities/engineering teams, external service vendors, and third-party lab support contractors.

The ideal candidate blends a scientific lab foundation (bench or lab operations) with strong organizational coordination, vendor oversight, and adherence to GxP compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Lab Operations Oversight: Manage day-to-day on-site laboratory services, ensuring seamless support for laboratory personnel, research operations, and equipment reliability.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise third-party lab support contractors and external service providers responsible for equipment maintenance, calibration, instrument servicing, and consumable stocking.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between scientific R&D teams and engineering/facilities teams to troubleshoot lab operational issues, coordinate repairs, and address day-to-day lab service requests.
• Consumables & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee point-of-use laboratory consumables management, inventory replenishment, and enterprise lab equipment maintenance schedules (preventative maintenance, work orders, service contracts).
• Communication & Meeting Cadence: Manage heavy email correspondence, rapid-response instant messaging (Microsoft Teams), and participate actively in recurring cross-functional stakeholder and operational alignment meetings.
• GxP Compliance & Safety: Ensure all lab services, vendor activities, and service documentation comply with GxP/GMP standards, site SOPs, internal quality systems, and regulatory safety guidelines (FDA, ISO, OSHA).
• Continuous Improvement: Partner with site-based leadership to evaluate service delivery KPIs, identify operational bottlenecks, and execute process enhancements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in a biological, chemical, or related life science discipline is required.
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience working at the laboratory bench or in laboratory operations within the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
• GxP Environment: Solid working knowledge and hands-on operational background within regulated GxP, GMP, or GLP environments.
• Vendor Oversight: Demonstrated experience directing, tracking, or supervising external suppliers, service contractors, or equipment maintenance vendors.
• Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead through influence, prioritize high-volume inquiries (MS Outlook, Teams), and mediate between scientific and engineering stakeholders.
• On-Site Requirement: Willing and able to work 100% on-site, Monday through Friday, in Malvern, PA.
