Are you a hands-on Field Service Engineer with strong electrical, mechanical or mechatronics expertise? Do you enjoy solving technical challenges, working directly with customers and travelling across the UK?

A leading global manufacturer of inspection and detection equipment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers operating within the food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the primary technical contact for customers throughout the UK, providing both on-site and remote support. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair sophisticated inspection equipment while ensuring customers receive an exceptional level of service.

Key Responsibilities for this Field Service Engineer role

• Install, commission and validate new equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and system health checks.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and control system faults.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support.
• Deliver operator and maintenance training to customers.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Support equipment demonstrations and factory acceptance testing.
• Assist customers in maximising equipment performance and uptime.

Essentials for this Field Service Engineer role

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience in field service, technical support or industrial equipment maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full UK driving licence.

Location & Travel

• Home-based role within the UK.
• Ideally located within reasonable access to a major airport.
• Frequent travel throughout the UK.
• Occasional travel across Continental Europe.
• Approximately 40-60% travel depending on customer and project requirements.
