Job Description

Client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer HVAC/Plumbing Engineer
Client is located at Hill AirForce Base, Utah
Per diem is offered for meals, hotel and rental car
1 or 2 trips home (short trips, along with 2 weeks virtual offered). Will be sitting onsite the entire project duration.

This is a project-related, field based role stationed at Hill AFB.

Seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on site design review support for a variety of buildings in the market sector. This position is for a design engineer with a background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design. Building types may include administration/office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses as well as maintenance facilities. The candidate should have leadership experience, good communication skills and ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for executing and reviewing mechanical designs for new and existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team, including drawings, specifications, and submittal reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and
  • Create and maintain project schedules for small to mid-size
  • Review of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings, for accuracy, clarity, coordination, codes and standards.
  • Actively coordinates with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on
  • Understands construction phase services (review of submittals, responses to RFI’s )
  • Able to present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end user

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience Mechanical Engineer
  • Federal industry experience and is familiar with government requirements (i.e. UFCs, MIL-STDs, UFGS)
  • Security Clearance (SECRET) or ability to get one
  • Knowledge of building mechanical codes
  • Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and other related markets
  • Knowledgeable in sustainable design
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to complete the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria
  • Building Controls Systems Design /Building Automation

Education: 

Required, Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited
