Job Description:

The Scrum Lead Contractor will be responsible for facilitating Agile delivery practices across one or more Mobile App product teams. This individual will serve as a servant leader and delivery facilitator, ensuring teams operate effectively within Agile frameworks while driving alignment between Engineering, Product, UX, Business, and dependent technology teams.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies including:

o Daily Standups

o Sprint Planning

o Sprint Reviews/Demos

o Sprint Retrospectives

o Backlog Refinement/Grooming

o PI Planning and related SAFe ceremonies

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Architects, UX teams, and business stakeholders to ensure sprint objectives and program commitments are met.

• Track and manage delivery risks, blockers, dependencies, and impediments, escalating issues proactively when necessary.

• Drive accountability around sprint commitments, team velocity, predictability, and delivery outcomes.

• Maintain Agile artifacts and metrics within Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or similar Agile management platforms.

• Support roadmap planning activities by coordinating cross-team dependencies and ensuring readiness for upcoming work.

• Facilitate discussions regarding scope, priorities, risks, and tradeoffs to maintain delivery momentum.

• Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum best practices, and continuous improvement techniques.

• Work with leadership to provide visibility into:

o Sprint progress

o Release readiness

o Delivery risks

o Team health metrics

o Capacity planning

• Support release planning and deployment activities across multiple environments.

• Assist in the identification and removal of process inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Partner with distributed, cross-functional teams including onshore and offshore resources.

• Create executive-ready reporting and status updates for program stakeholders and leadership.

Enable your team(s) to practice Professional Scrum and other frameworks/techniques that drive agility 

Cultivate a habit of continuous learning (from prior increments, retrospectives, etc.), continuous experimentation, and continuous improvement to reach a high-performing state 

Coach your team(s) to understand (the why) and practice new ways of working 

Serve as internal trainers contributing to the learning and development of one or more team(s) 

Coach Product Owners/Managers with techniques for establishing empirical product planning and maintaining a healthy Product Backlog 

Maintain, share, and promote information radiators that enable inspection and adaptation 

Coach teams to self-organize and facilitate events, as necessary 

 

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience 

5+ years serving as a Scrum Master, Scrum Lead, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role.

7+ years working within Agile software development environments.

Experience supporting medium-to-large scale enterprise technology initiatives.

1. Agile Delivery Leadership

Proven experience leading Agile delivery teams.

Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.

Demonstrated ability to drive execution and remove delivery impediments.

2. Agile Tool Expertise

 

Strong experience with:

Azure DevOps (ADO)

Aha!

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Office Suite

3. Stakeholder & Dependency Management

Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across Product, Engineering, UX, Architecture, QA, and Business teams.

Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) Certification

Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)

Experience supporting mobile application development teams

Experience in the airline, travel, hospitality, or transportation industry

Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices

Experience with distributed and globally dispersed teams

Familiarity with digital customer-facing applications

Exposure to Lean Portfolio Management practices
