NTT DATA is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our managed services team in Canberra, ACT. The role supports Federal Government client environments and requires Australian citizenship with AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance. Candidates outside the ACT must be prepared to relocate to Canberra.
OverviewThe Senior Cloud Engineer will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of systems and infrastructure. The position involves close collaboration with development, operations, and other stakeholders to enhance system resiliency, automate processes, and improve overall system reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver cloud development activities with relevant stakeholders and technical resources.
- Interact with clients on site to meet complex solution requirements.
- Escalate unresolved problems to the Technical Lead and third parties.
- Mentor and coach other engineers to foster knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
- Write reports, proposals, and maintain project documentation.
- Contribute to complex design work and provide design input.
- Take ownership of relevant technologies within your domain or specialization.
- Maintain and develop Infrastructure as Code for various systems.
- Support Java applications running in a Linux environment.
- Perform performance tuning and monitoring.
- Work with a diverse team across a wide range of technologies and systems.
- Automate processes and build self service capabilities.
- Deliver and build services and technologies, including Microsoft Azure.
- Collaborate to develop and implement operational improvements.
- Leverage cloud native tools to review metrics and monitor the health/usage of agency cloud services.
- Mandatory: Practical experience and understanding of Cloud Implementations; Microsoft Azure in protected cloud environments.
- Experience with ElasticSearch and scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment or Java development experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining automated deployments.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (preferably Ansible and ARM).
- Ability to work full time from client premises in Canberra.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) preferred.
- Mentoring team members.
- Knowledge of Azure Bicep, Terraform, HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Neo4j, Kafka, NiFi, Kibana, Logstash, GraphQL, Redis, WSO2 Identity Server or similar, WSO2 API Manager or similar, PostgreSQL or similar, React or similar, Java Spring Boot.
