Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, network security, cloud networking, and troubleshooting complex network environments. This role will work closely with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain network architecture, diagrams, standards, and technical documentation.
• Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, performance, and availability issues.
• Implement and manage routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs.
• Configure and manage network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.
• Support cloud networking across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.
• Implement network redundancy, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover solutions.
• Analyze network traffic and performance using monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Automate network configuration and operational tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate network security vulnerabilities.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours support as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in network engineering or network infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, NAT, VPN, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies; experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, VRF, MPLS, QoS, and IPsec.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform networking and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with network automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
