Senior Controls Engineer – Siemens

Location: Fremont, CA – 100% Onsite

Job Summary:
We are looking for Senior Controls Engineers with strong Siemens automation experience to support line commissioning, debugging, and production release for automated assembly lines. This role is hands-on and focused on commissioning and troubleshooting rather than controls design.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal – Mandatory
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic and Structured Text
• Hands-on commissioning of automated assembly lines, from power-on through production release
• Experience with safety system configuration and validation
• Knowledge of ANSI/RIA 15.06, OSHA, NFPA 79, NEC, and UL 508A
• HMI development and troubleshooting
• Experience with MES and database integration
• Hands-on experience with Cognex or Keyence vision systems
• Ability to read and redline EPLAN schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and debug automated production/assembly lines
• Perform power-on, startup, validation, and production release activities
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, safety, vision, and automation issues
• Validate machine safety systems and controls
• Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams during line ramp-up
• Support issues through successful production release
