The role will ensure that all migrated functionality, AML scenarios, business rules, and system integrations operate as expected and meet business and regulatory requirements.

The tester will work closely with business users, the implementation partner, and technical teams to validate that the migrated solution performs correctly and that newly configured scenarios in SAS Viya produce the expected results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the SAS AML migration project.
  • Perform functional, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support for the migrated SAS AML solution.
  • Validate that all migrated AML scenarios, detection rules, workflows, and configurations function as expected in SAS Viya 4.
  • Verify that newly configured AML scenarios produce the expected alerts, outputs, and case generation results.
  • Compare results between SAS AML 7.1 and SAS Viya 4 to ensure functional equivalence where applicable.
  • Execute end-to-end testing of AML processes, including data ingestion, scenario execution, alert generation, case creation, and reporting.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with technical teams and the implementation partner.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure migration accuracy and data integrity.
  • Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test data, executing scenarios, and resolving testing issues.
  • Validate defect fixes through re-testing and perform regression testing to ensure no impact on existing functionality.
  • Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and testing status updates for project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with Mashreq's testing standards, quality processes, and project governance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of software testing experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Hands-on experience testing SAS AML solutions.
  • Experience participating in application migration or upgrade projects.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies and defect lifecycle management.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience testing SAS AML scenarios and transaction monitoring rules.
  • Knowledge of SAS AML workflows, alert generation, case management, and reporting.
  • Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and ETL testing concepts.
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Familiarity with SQL and basic data analysis techniques for validating test results.
  • Knowledge of banking AML processes and regulatory compliance requirements is highly desirable.

Key Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong time management and ability to meet project deadlines.

Success Criteria

The successful candidate will:

  • Successfully validate the migration from SAS AML 7.1 to SAS Viya 4 with comprehensive test coverage.
  • Ensure all AML scenarios, business rules, and workflows function as designed in the new platform.
  • Identify and report defects promptly, ensuring timely resolution and re-validation.
  • Confirm data integrity and consistency between the legacy and migrated environments.
  • Support successful User Acceptance Testing and production readiness.
  • Deliver complete testing documentation, defect reports, and test execution evidence in accordance with Mashreq's quality and governance standards.
