Job description

Title: CICS System Programmer / Support Engineer Location: 100% Remote Duration Contract to Hire Job Description:

We are seeking a senior , hands-on CICS System Programmer / Support Engineer to support production CICS environments, perform maintenance and upgrades, troubleshoot incidents, and maintain production stability.
The ideal candidate should have strong CICS and z/OS experience and be able to work independently in a highly technical environment.

Must-Have Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of IT experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience supporting CICS regions.
Strong CICS and IBM z/OS/Mainframe experience .
Experience supporting production CICS environments, including maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
Experience with COBOL, JCL, REXX, and Assembler .
Ability to work independently and maintain production stability.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Previous Technical Team Lead experience.
Experience with CICS 5.6 or CICS 6.3.

Technical Environment

Supports 100+ CICS regions across Ashburn, Kent, and Baltimore data center workloads.
Current CICS version: 5.6, with an ongoing upgrade to CICS 6.3.
Dedicated teams handle RACF/Security, MQ, and VTAM; the primary focus of this role is CICS.

On-Call Responsibilities Participate in a rotational 24×7 on-call schedule, initially approximately once every three weeks, potentially moving to once every two weeks .
