About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lead React Native Engineer to help drive the development and technical direction of high-traffic, customer-facing mobile applications.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex mobile challenges while continuing to write production code. You will work across iOS and Android, influence application architecture, guide other engineers, and partner with product and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has extensive React Native experience and can operate comfortably across application architecture, native mobile capabilities, API integrations, performance, releases, and production support.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and enhance production React Native applications for iOS and Android

• Serve as a technical lead while remaining actively involved in development

• Make architectural decisions around application structure, reusable components, state management, and platform-specific functionality

• Review code and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers

• Build integrations with external APIs, SDKs, authentication providers, payment services, analytics platforms, and other third-party technologies

• Partner with Product, UX, QA, backend, and engineering teams to take features from concept through production

• Work with REST and GraphQL services and troubleshoot complex integration issues

• Improve application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability

• Implement and support features such as push notifications, deep linking, offline behavior, and location-based functionality

• Participate in mobile build and deployment processes for both Apple and Android platforms

• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions

• Help establish engineering standards and scalable development practices

• Collaborate with engineers working across multiple locations and development teams

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial mobile development experience

• Several years of recent, hands-on React Native development

• Advanced experience with JavaScript and TypeScript

• Production experience delivering applications across both iOS and Android

• Previous technical leadership experience involving architecture, code reviews, technical decision-making, or mentoring

• Experience developing large-scale customer-facing mobile applications

• Strong knowledge of mobile application architecture and design patterns

• Experience with state management and complex application data flows

• Strong experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs

• Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs

• Understanding of mobile performance optimization, error handling, and application security

• Experience with Git-based development and pull-request/code-review workflows

• Experience supporting automated testing and CI/CD processes

• Experience releasing production applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play

• Experience diagnosing and resolving production mobile issues

• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Native iOS development experience using Swift or SwiftUI

• Native Android development experience using Kotlin

• Experience creating or integrating custom native modules

• Familiarity with modern React Native capabilities such as Fabric, TurboModules, Hermes, or JSI

• Experience with tools such as Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Expo, or EAS

• Experience with mobile monitoring and observability platforms

• Experience with Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, Appium, Maestro, or similar testing frameworks

• Experience implementing payment, authentication, analytics, geolocation, notification, or other mobile SDK integrations

• Experience developing mobile applications involving transactions, customer accounts, rewards, promotions, or other high-volume consumer functionality

• Experience working with distributed development teams

Ideal Profile

We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between technical strategy and hands-on implementation. You should be able to make an architectural decision in one conversation, review another engineer's code in the next, and then jump into the codebase yourself to build or troubleshoot a feature.
