Engineer III | Reston, VA, United States | Hybrid

This employer is a highly regarded entity supporting critical defense programs within the naval sector. They are seeking an experienced Engineer to contribute to significant submarine development and acquisition initiatives, fostering innovation and excellence in a collaborative environment.

The Role

  • Provide expert support to key Program Offices within the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Submarine community.
  • Contribute to the development and acquisition phases of advanced submarine programs, including the COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA Classes, and future SSN(X) initiatives.
  • Apply scientific and mathematical principles to research, design, and develop technical solutions for complex engineering challenges.
  • Analyze the environmental and user impact of developed products and designed systems.
  • Engage in testing, production, and maintenance support, ensuring quality and efficiency.

What You'll Need

  • Master's degree in any technical or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Desired: 7+ years of experience in the design, testing, qualification, and production of naval shipboard electrical and/or propulsion equipment.
  • Desired: Proven knowledge and experience with Submarines and/or the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
  • Desired: Experience with large electrical machinery and/or power electronics.
  • Must hold a U.S. security clearance at the Secret level and be a U.S. citizen.
