Job Title: DV Cleared Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Reading - 5 Days Onsite
Duration: 6 Months with potential extension
Rate: Up to 750 per day via an approved umbrella company (Inside IR35)
Active and fully transferable DV Clearance required
Are you an experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer looking to work on high-profile, mission-critical systems within a secure environment? Our client is seeking a DV Cleared Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly skilled infrastructure team supporting and delivering complex enterprise Linux and UNIX platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across large-scale, secure environments, supporting critical infrastructure, delivering technical projects and maintaining highly available systems within a fast-paced and technically challenging setting.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise Linux and UNIX infrastructure.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris environments.
• Supporting large-scale server estates across physical and virtual platforms.
• Managing operating system patching, upgrades and lifecycle activities.
• Administering storage, filesystems, volume management and clustering technologies.
• Troubleshooting complex Linux, UNIX, hardware, networking and performance-related issues.
• Supporting VMware virtualisation and infrastructure services.
• Implementing automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins and GitHub.
• Working closely with network, security, database and application teams to deliver infrastructure projects.
• Producing technical documentation, build guides and support procedures.
• Participating in infrastructure migrations, server deployments and platform improvements.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Strong UNIX/Linux background including experience with Solaris, HP-UX and AIX.
• Experience with:

  • NFS
  • DNS
  • LVM
  • Multipathing
  • Shell Scripting
• Knowledge ofSolaris technologies including:
  • Solaris Zones
  • LDOMs
  • Solaris Volume Manager (SVM)
  • Veritas Volume Manager
  • Veritas File System
  • Veritas Cluster
• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms such as EMC, NetApp, IBM and HP storage solutions.
• Automation and DevOps experience using Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub and Packer.
• Experience working within ITIL environments and managing incidents, problems and changes via ServiceNow.
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
