Position: SAP WMS Consultant
Location: Memphis, TN (Onsite)
Duration: 6 to 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced WMS Functional Process Consultant to lead warehouse process design, configuration, and operational support across enterprise warehouse systems. The role requires strong expertise in WMS platforms (SAP, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, etc.) with a focus on process optimization, integrations, and production support in high-volume distribution environments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Ownership

• Partner with warehouse and logistics stakeholders to assess current processes and identify gaps
• Define and document future-state process flows across:

o Receiving, putaway, replenishment

o Picking (wave, batch, zone), packing, shipping

o Cycle counting, returns and inventory adjustments

• Lead workshops and drive process alignment across business functions

WMS Configuration & Solution Design

• Configure WMS rules, parameters, and workflows (allocation, task interleaving, slotting, cartonization, labeling)
• Support warehouse execution optimization including inbound/outbound and internal movements
• Maintain configuration governance, documentation, and change control processes

Integrations & Interface Management

• Design and support integrations between WMS and ERP/OMS/TMS systems
• Manage integrations with carriers, EDI partners, and warehouse automation systems (WCS, conveyors, sorters, RF, voice, RFID)
• Validate message flows, acknowledgments, and exception handling across middleware, APIs, and flat files

Production Support & Root Cause Analysis

• Act as L3 SME to resolve complex warehouse execution issues
• Perform root cause analysis across application, database, and integration layers
• Drive corrective and preventive actions with clear stakeholder communication
• Support hypercare, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization activities

Data, Reporting & Analytics

• Develop SQL queries, extracts, and reconciliation routines for inventory and transaction accuracy
• Build and maintain dashboards/KPIs such as:

o Inventory accuracy

o Dock-to-stock time

o Order cycle time

o Picking productivity and backlog

• Leverage reporting tools to drive operational insights and decision-making

Required Skills

• Strong experience with WMS platforms (SAP EWM/WM, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, etc.)
• Deep understanding of warehouse operations (inbound, outbound, inventory, returns)
• Hands-on experience in WMS configuration and process design
• Experience with system integrations (ERP, OMS, TMS, automation systems)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with production support experience
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis
