Senior Business Analyst

Job Title: Senior Business Analyst – Group Insurance & Employee Benefits (100% Remote)
Location: Fully Remote (US-Based)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Group Insurance Benefits Business Analyst to join our growing, fully remote team. In this senior-level role, you will act as the critical liaison between our core business operations (Underwriting, Billing, Claims) and our technical engineering teams. You will own the requirements lifecycle for complex employee benefit products, architect "to-be" process workflows, and ensure the seamless execution of high-priority digital transformation initiatives.

What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)
Own the Requirements Lifecycle: Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of comprehensive epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for group life, disability, and voluntary benefit products.
Architect Process Workflows: Design and optimize complex end-to-end operational processes (Quote-to-Card, automated underwriting rules, premium billing, and claims routing) using Visio or Lucidchart.
Data Strategy & Validation: Analyze complex employer census data, validate 834 EDI enrollment files, and write advanced SQL queries to audit financial configurations and resolve data mismatches.
Drive Quality Assurance: Partner with QA leads to establish end-to-end testing strategies, orchestrate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business champions, and sign off on production readiness.
Champion Agile Delivery: Facilitate cross-functional requirements workshops, mentor junior analysts, and actively drive Scrum ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, and estimation sessions).

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Experience: 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strict minimum of 2-3 years dedicated to the Group Insurance / Employee Benefits sector.
Domain Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of the lifecycle and operational rules governing Short-Term/Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD), Group Term Life/AD&D, and Voluntary Benefits (Critical Illness, Accident).
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Jira and Confluence for backlog management, alongside strong relational database skills (SQL).
Leadership Traits: Proven ability to manage ambiguity, influence stakeholders across business units, and drive clarity in a fast-paced environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
