This is an important leadership role with responsibility for Warehouse Operatives and Team Leaders. We are looking for someone who can develop an engaged and high-performing team and ensure tasks are delivered safely, diligently and effectively.
Warehouse experience is important, but attitude and leadership approach are key. You’ll be someone who is comfortable challenging the status quo, driving improvements and creating a culture where people feel supported, accountable and motivated to perform at their best.
What will you do?
As Warehouse Group Lead, you will
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 12+ Warehouse Operatives and 2 Team Leaders.
- Create a strong culture of Health & Safety, ensuring safe working practices remain at the heart of the operation.
- Drive employee engagement through regular 1-to-1s, open two-way communication and visible leadership.
- Manage performance through effective coaching, feedback, support and accountability.
- Build team capability through skills assessments, training and development.
- Identify and support colleagues who have the ability and ambition to progress.
- Induct and integrate new team members effectively.
- Be a positive change driver, challenging existing ways of working and supporting continuous improvement.
- Ensure operational tasks and priorities are delivered accurately, diligently and on time.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively with managers at all levels.
- Manage grievance and disciplinary matters, with support from HR when required.
- Support the continued development of the warehouse operation as the business expands.
What do you need to be successful?
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and a strong people-focused leadership style.
You’ll be a hands-on, approachable and confident manager who can demonstrate how you have developed teams, improved performance and successfully led people through change.
For us, this role is about more than managing a warehouse. It’s about leading people well.
You’ll be visible, approachable and willing to get involved, while setting clear expectations and holding people accountable. You’ll have a genuine passion for people, safety and continuous improvement, along with the drive to help shape and develop the warehouse operation as we continue to grow.
A warehouse professional qualification, HACCP knowledge and HSE awareness training would be advantageous.
If you’re an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys developing people and making positive change happen, we’d love to hear from you.
