Job Description

We are looking for Field Support Technician for our client in Dartmouth, MA

Job Title: Field Support Technician

Job Location: Dartmouth, MA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $19.00hr - $24.00hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will recommend services and standards for supporting the end-user compute and field services environment. Primary duties include deploying and managing hardware and software, provisioning remote site networks, performing Level 2 break/fix support, and maintaining asset inventories to meet operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Recommend services and standards for supporting the end-user compute and field services environment.
  • Deploy and manage in-scope hardware and software.
  • Support end-user data backup, storage, and recovery services.
  • Provision and support remote site networks (e.g., LAN, WAN connections) and related operations, including procurement, design, system monitoring, incident diagnostics, troubleshooting, resolution, escalation, security management, and capacity planning.
  • Provide support for stand-alone Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
  • Provide server break/fix and Level 2 support for equipment and system software as coordinated through the IT and clinical service desks.
  • Provide break/fix Level 2 support for in-scope hardware and software.
  • Provide remote and deskside support to authorized users as needed to fulfill service requirements.
  • Perform incident determination, root cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of in-scope software licenses, ensuring compliance and reconciling installations with license rights.
  • Provide support for financial audits as requested.
  • Perform access control operations (file systems, disk space) for authorized users.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of in-scope hardware, including asset tagging and recording.
  • Provide technical support for all hardware and equipment within the remote site computing infrastructure.
  • Establish procedures for procuring appropriate equipment spares and maintain inventory levels to meet temporary capacity needs and service level requirements.
  • Manage and maintain spare inventory for in-scope hardware devices, advising on inventory levels in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Track and fulfill requests for new devices, spare components, or peripherals from the spares inventory.
  • Provide ad hoc fulfillment of approved new devices, components, or peripherals.
  • Manage device life cycles as part of the ongoing hardware refresh process.
  • Provide technical advice to vendors regarding remote site infrastructure system software.
  • Implement and coordinate all changes to remote site infrastructure, including those affecting service levels of third parties or recurring service agreements.
  • Create, maintain, and provide appropriate project plans, time and cost estimates, technical specifications, and management documentation in an approved format.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to consolidate infrastructure, improve utilization and availability, and optimize costs.
  • Provide BYOD capabilities and user support.
  • Support standard-approved projectors that are not part of managed teleconferencing or video conferencing services.
