The Construction Expediter is responsible for monitoring the flow of materials, equipment, and documentation from suppliers to the job site. This role involves proactive planning, tracking, and troubleshooting to prevent delays in construction projects, ensuring all materials meet specifications and arrive on schedule. Main responsibilities are: 

  • Determine supply needs through technical details and schedules 
  • Manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements 
  • Review Maintenance Plan/Schedule daily and identify and stage parts required 24 to 48 hours in advance. 
  • Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications  
  • Resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders Inspect orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity  
  • Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites  
  • Place orders when needed aiming for timely delivery and competitive price  
  • Arrange the movement of material between locations 
  • Detect and troubleshoot issues with delivery of orders 
  • Monitor orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity 
  • Ensure all vendor parts are received through HGM warehouse. 
  • Ensure returns make it to the respective Warehouse: HGM or Vendor Warehouse. Ensure returns are processed properly with proper paperwork: PO number, WO number, any return paperwork required. 
  • Order parts for breakdown RM work when the maintenance supervisor or lead is not available. 
  • Order parts for CM Maintenance on a properly coded work order. 
  • Deliver parts to field mechanic or shop floor as required.  
  • Inventory parts totes and make notes of any inventory changes. Re-order parts that were removed to use another piece of equipment. 
  • Daily email to logistic technicians’ group, on shift maintenance supervisor or lead with log sheets, inventory sheets and any information that may be pertinent on the following shifts. 
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in parts processes preferred.
  • High School Diploma 
  • Time Management to manage the day-to-day duties 
  • Able to use part books to identify parts needed for repair, Skilled in Cat SIS, My Komatsu, My Sandvik, to order parts needed Preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, etc.) 
  • Pronto CMMS experienced preferred. 
  • Committed to continuously improving the safe and efficient operation of the department. 
  • Promote high level of accountability. 
  • Self-starter with little to no direction 
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others. 
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals. 
  • Develop key relationships with business partners to deliver Haile’s objectives.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see. 
  • Must be able to work shift work with 10-hour shifts. 
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday. 
  • Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
