Quick overview
Job description
Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. Qantas has a range of subsidiary businesses that support the overall operations of the Group. The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.
- Partner with Technology teams to plan, schedule and govern remediation of material exposures across the Qantas Group
- Staff Travel Benefit from Day 1!
- Permanent, full-time role based in Sydney
At the Qantas Group, we're united by our purpose: to make everyone feel proud to belong to the Spirit of Australia. Join a team where safety, collaboration, care, and innovation are at the heart of what we do, and where your work helps shape the future of aviation.
As the Senior Manager - Exposure Remediation, you’ll lead remediation governance within Technology, taking exposures identified and ticketed by our Cyber team and partnering with Technology resolver teams to understand, schedule and track them through to closure.
Reporting to the head of Technology, you will be developing the Exposure Remediation capability. This capability sits in Technology, acting as Technology’s remediation partner to Cyber and focused on helping material exposures move efficiently from ticket through to closure. Building on the established identification capability and existing remediation coordination practices, you will work with Cyber, Risk, resolver groups and peers supporting the broader Qantas Group businesses including Qantas Loyalty and Jetstar.
Resolver teams retain responsibility for remediation, while Exposure Remediation brings stakeholders together, builds business and technology context, supports prioritsation and sequencing of remediation, removes delivery barriers and drives governance outcomes.
What you will be doing:
- Own remediation governance for exposures identified by Cyber tooling, building clear accountability from ticket through to remediation and closure.
- Partner with Technology resolver teams, Cyber, Risk and business teams across Qantas, Qantas Loyalty and Jetstar to keep material exposures moving.
- Shape remediation scheduling, sequencing, governance and escalation, aligning fixes to roadmaps, capacity and dependencies, removing delivery barriers and bringing the right stakeholders together to support remediation.
- Establish meaningful metrics and reporting that give senior stakeholders clear visibility of remediation performance, including timeliness, SLA adherence, ageing, exceptions and risk acceptances.
- Lead the organisational change required to embed remediation governance as an ongoing capability, while developing and supporting Exposure Remediation Analysts.
- Work with outputs from vulnerability, attack surface and code scanning tools.
- Work within leading IT service management platforms.
What you'll bring
- Significant remediation, vulnerability management or technology risk and delivery governance experience within a large, complex matrix enterprise.
- Strong understanding of cyber risk and how technical exposures translate into business risk.
- Experience embedding new processes and ways of working across multiple teams.
- Experience in technology delivery, change and release planning, or resolver and service management.
- Proven ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders without direct authority, acting as the conduit between relevant groups to influence technical outcomes.
- Confidence communicating exposure and remediation performance to executives and steering committees.
- Strong architectural and platform knowledge spanning infrastructure, workstations, applications and cloud.
- Experience establishing a new capability or transitioning project-based activity into an ongoing practice.
- Relevant certification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ITIL or equivalent is desirable.
