T26/27SPECIAL ED COORD - LOW INCIDENCE (Office of Special Ed)

This position is a 1.0 FTE located within the Office of Special Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledgeable about special education policies and procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiar with Synergy SIS and SE.
• Knowledgeable about positive behavioral supports.
• Knowledgeable of Section 504.

EXPERIENCE:

• At least three years experience in special education or related fields.
• Experience and ability in reviewing and evaluating assessment data prepared for the special education process.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Experience working in schools as a teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Special Education or Speech Language Pathology endorsement.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, both verbal and written.
• Creative problem solving skills.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Ability to present to small and medium-sized audiences.
• Knowledge of needs and behaviors of students with IEPs and 504 accommodations.
• Coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility in dealing with job and schedule.
• Assume responsibility and display initiative.
• Handle and maintain confidential information regarding students, staff, and parents.
• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is
  preferred but not required.

Salary:

Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule: $56,458–$144,723
