Position - Mainframe Test Lead
Location - 100% Remote

Experience - 7+ Years
Type - W2 Contract
Job Description -

  • Lead end-to-end testing for complex mainframe applications, including test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
  • Develop and review test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
  • Lead SIT, integration, regression, end-to-end, and UAT testing activities.
  • Coordinate testing across development, business, QA, and client teams.
  • Test applications and processes involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and batch processing.
  • Validate batch jobs, online transactions, interfaces, file processing, and upstream/downstream integrations.
  • Manage defects through identification, prioritization, root-cause analysis, retesting, and closure.
  • Provide clear reporting on testing progress, risks, dependencies, defects, and overall quality.
  • Support delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment and participate in client-facing discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Mainframe testing experience, including experience leading or coordinating QA/testing activities.
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and mainframe batch processing.
  • Experience with functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong understanding of test planning, test execution, defect management, and QA processes.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, ALM/Quality Center, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and client-facing skills.
