This position guides hardware solutions from concept through production with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate technical and business requirements into comprehensive hardware platform designs supporting cloud infrastructure.
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and enhance hardware solutions to support data center performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
  • Manage the hardware lifecycle from initial concept and prototyping through validation, testing, and production release.
  • Coordinate with OEM, ODM, and JDM partners to support technical alignment, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Establish project milestones, acceptance criteria, technical requirements, and performance expectations and monitor supplier progress against established objectives.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between hardware and software teams to facilitate communication, evaluate trade-offs, and address technical challenges.
  • Apply knowledge of board-, server-, and rack-level architectures to support efficient data center integration.
  • Use approved AI-enabled tools to support infrastructure analysis, workflow efficiency, and technical decision-making while validating outputs for accuracy.
  • Evaluate thermal management, airflow, liquid cooling, and power delivery requirements as part of hardware platform design.
  • Support hardware lifecycle and modernization initiatives, including migration and retirement of legacy technologies with minimal operational disruption.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience designing, developing, testing, or improving hardware products or platforms.
  • Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of OEM, ODM, and JDM manufacturing processes and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Experience with data center hardware and infrastructure, including compute, networking, power, and cooling systems.
  • Working knowledge of thermal management principles and hardware validation or certification processes within data center or cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with technologies and standards such as PCIe, Redfish, OpenBMC, and Open Compute.
  • Experience supporting Linux-based server environments and using scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinating technical deliverables across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated attention to engineering quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate and validate AI-assisted outputs for accuracy, security, resiliency, and alignment with applicable operational and compliance requirements.
