Senior Technology Project Manager - Database Engineering
Location: Juno Beach, FL
Role Overview
An experienced technology project manager must lead and coordinate strategic initiatives across the Database Engineering organization. This professional shall partner closely with database engineering leadership, database engineers, application teams, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, and other stakeholders to deliver enterprise database initiatives. The responsibilities include driving complex, cross-functional initiatives associated with database technology modernization, lifecycle management, standards, patching, platform implementations, automation, cloud adoption, and operational excellence. This position requires a technology orientation and the ability to translate objectives into structured programs with clear scope, milestones, ownership, dependencies, risks, metrics, and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex, enterprise-level Database Engineering and technology projects from initiation through planning, execution, implementation, and operational transition.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, risks, issues, and status reporting.
• Coordinate initiatives across Database Engineering, Application Development, Cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Service Management, and other technology organizations.
• Drive enterprise database lifecycle and modernization initiatives, including technology upgrades, migrations, platform refreshes, end-of-life remediation, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction.
• Coordinate database patching and maintenance programs, ensuring planning, application coordination, testing, scheduling, risk management, communications, and completion tracking.
• Lead projects associated with the development, implementation, and adoption of database standards, engineering guidelines, reference architectures, governance processes, and technology best practices.
• Manage the evaluation, onboarding, implementation, and operationalization of new database technologies, products, platforms, tools, and capabilities.
• Lead and coordinate automation initiatives for Database Operations to improve monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, capacity management, performance optimization, patching, lifecycle management, operational analytics, and engineering productivity.
• Partner with Database Engineering teams to identify opportunities where intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and agentic capabilities can reduce manual operational activities and improve database reliability.
• Establish measurable success criteria and KPIs for technology initiatives, including adoption, automation, operational efficiency, risk reduction, lifecycle compliance, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Facilitate technical meetings, ensuring decisions, action items, risks, dependencies, and ownership are documented and managed.
• Identify project risks, constraints, and cross-team dependencies early to drive mitigation and escalation strategies.
• Provide reporting regarding project health, accomplishments, milestones, risks, issues, and decisions requiring leadership support.
• Coordinate the consolidation of operational and project reporting, maintaining project status decks for leadership review.

Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Technical project management experience within enterprise IT environments, specifically managing database engineering, database administration, or database infrastructure initiatives.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation is required. A solid understanding of IT infrastructure, database management systems, and technology platforms such as M365, SharePoint, and Power Platform is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

• Professional project management certification, such as PMP or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience driving database modernization, cloud migration, or database patching lifecycle initiatives.
• Experience integrating intelligent automation or predictive analytics into IT infrastructure operations.
