Job description
Global Servicing (GS) oversees consumer travel and concierge experiences, all card customer service functions for the company’s global consumer, banking, merchant, and commercial customers, as well as the key enablement functions that power our products and services. GS provides the world’s best customer experience every day by building on Amex’s 175-year legacy of service excellence, leveraging new technologies and capabilities to drive transformation, and bringing a human touch to each customer interaction.
The First Line of Defense Financial Crimes Risk Management Center of Excellence (1LOD FC COE) is advancing an enterprise-wide approach to managing risks related to anti-money laundering, sanctions, payments controls, and anti-corruption across the First Line of Defense. The team works across business, technology, data, and compliance to strengthen governance, processes, controls, and capabilities across global lines of business.
The Financial Crimes Transformation Frameworks and Procedures team is responsible for translating complex regulatory standards and commitments into actionable first-line frameworks, business capabilities, technology requirements, remediation plans, roadmaps, and audit-ready evidence. We also reduce regulatory exposure, rework, and delivery delays; improve decision speed and execution predictability; and protect the company’s most critical financial-crimes transformation investments.
This internship offers the opportunity to support transformation initiatives and help develop AI agents that move the organization closer to realizing Enterprise Remediation Intelligence. These agents will transform identified gaps into actionable, human-reviewed intelligence. The goal is to help teams understand not only where gaps exist, but also how remediation efforts can be coordinated and monitored across the enterprise. AI-generated outputs will support informed decision-making while maintaining transparency, effective governance, and human oversight. You can expect to:
Support the design, testing, and documentation of AI agents for financial crimes risk management.
Help map relationships among regulatory requirements, processes, risks, controls, data, and technology.
