Job description

The Kestra team has over 400 years of experience in the external and internal cardiac medical device markets. The company was founded in 2014 by industry leaders inspired by the opportunity to unite modern wearable technologies with proven device therapies. Kestra’s solutions combine high quality and technical performance with a wearable design that provides the greatest regard for patient comfort and dignity. Innovating versatile new ways to deliver care, Kestra is helping patients and their care teams harmoniously monitor, manage, and protect life.

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Governance owns Kestra’s enterprise data platform and the standards that govern how data is used across the company. Reporting to the CIO, this role leads the transition to Microsoft Fabric, defines the enterprise data architecture, and operationalizes the Master Data Management (MDM) program. The role sets the rules, certified data models, and guardrails that allow analysts embedded in business functions to build their own reports and insights safely and consistently. This is a platform and governance leadership role, not a report development role. The Senior Manager directs outsourced engineering, administration, and development resources today, with the opportunity to build an internal team as the platform matures and serves as a trusted advisor to functional leaders as Kestra builds the governed data foundation required for AI, automation, and its evolving enterprise systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Data Platform and Architecture

  • Own the design, implementation, and operation of the enterprise data platform, including the Microsoft Fabric transition plan from the current Azure-based environment.
  • Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including Lakehouse design, semantic models, data ingestion patterns, and environment strategy across development, test, and production.
  • Manage platform capacity, performance, reliability, and cost, and recommend licensing and capacity adjustments to the CIO.
  • Maintain continuity of enterprise analytics as source systems evolve, including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Bonafide, and retire legacy custom reports as they are rebuilt on certified models by functional analysts or delivery resources.
  • Prepare the data platform for AI and automation use cases, including Microsoft Copilot experiences, such as Copilot in Fabric and Power BI and Microsoft 365 Copilot, on governed semantic models, and data products that support embedded insights within business workflows.

Master Data Management

  • Operationalize the MDM program, including master data domains, ownership, stewardship processes, data quality rules, and supporting tools.
  • Partner with functional data owners to establish and sustain stewardship roles and data quality metrics.
  • This role sets enterprise data standards, definitions, quality rules, and controls; data owners decide on the content, quality thresholds, and access for their domains within those standards.

Data Governance and Self-Service Enablement

  • Own governance for all users creating reports, dashboards, and BI content from the data platform, including workspace standards, publishing and certification rules, access controls, and change management.
  • Implement data protection controls in partnership with the Director of IT Security and Compliance, including sensitivity labeling of PHI, PII, and financial data, data loss prevention, and role-based access.
  • Make the governed path the easiest path by providing certified datasets, templates, documentation, training, and office hours for self-service users.
  • Serve as the expert guide and technical mentor to data analysts embedded in functions across the company, raising capability and consistency without becoming the default report developer.
  • Establish clear intake and decision rights that distinguish enterprise data standards, owned by this role, from functional analysis, owned by business teams.

Leadership and Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders on data strategy, metrics definitions, and how data can improve decisions and operations.
  • Influence leaders and teams outside direct reporting lines through sound judgment and constructive resolution of competing priorities, and communicate platform roadmaps, risks, and tradeoffs to executive audiences in concise, business-oriented terms.

Resource and Vendor Management

  • Manage outsourced developers, administrators, and other technical resources that support the data platform, including scope, prioritization, quality, and delivery.
  • Support sourcing, statements of work, and supplier performance management for data platformservices, and monitor spending against budget.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Information Technology on application integrations and system changes that affect the data platform.

Compliance and Quality

  • Ensuring enterprise data assets and platform processes comply with HIPAA, SOX, and other applicable requirements.
  • Support validation of data platform components and reports for regulatory and audit readiness, including documentation and retention of validation evidence.
  • Adhere to Pledge of Confidentiality
    • Information regarding a patient of this company shall not be released to any source
outside of this company without the signed permission of the patient. Furthermore,
information will only be released internally on a need-to-know basis. All Team Members
will not discuss patient cases outside the office or with anyone not employed by this
company unless they are directly involved with the patient’s case.
